A student submits excellent work but cannot explain it. AI helped finish the assignment, but what did the student learn? Banning AI in schools and universities won’t solve this: students will need to work with it and tackle complex problems in their careers.
I created Loyal Universe to help students develop their thinking through working with AI. It brings together thinking techniques they can practise in conversation with it, learning to ask better questions, challenge explanations, and work through problems. Having access to knowledge is only the beginning; students also need to learn how to make sense of it and use it.
For me, AI’s greatest promise is learning, because the knowledge and skills students develop stay with them even when AI is unavailable.
